Just returned from a much needed week of leave. My lovely wife Jan let me join four of my generation X nephews and three their buddies on a ski-trip to Park City, UT. Not only did I manage to not break my leg (..or my neck) while squeezing in 60 runs in three days, I also was able to visit the Salt Lake City VAMC Fisher House. SLC is one of our houses that does not have a Friends of Fisher House (FOFH) community group, but “Amazing” Quinn Kiger-Good (the Fisher House manager) does n remarkable job – mostly with help from local VSOs, church groups and friends at Hill Air Force Base. SLC is the primary hospital for folks in Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, etc., and every family member I met had traveled hundreds of miles to get their care at the SLC VAMC.
